Ernakulam Rural: In Ernakulam Rural, the police arrested two individuals with 18.5 kilograms of ganja after a significant drug bust in Pallikkara Manakakadav. Fadil (23) and Ratheesh (23) from Srikrishnapuram Chantapuram in Palakkad were apprehended by Tadiittaparam police in the Karumatra Karupadanna area of Thrissur Kodungallur. As part of Operation Clean, they were taken into custody during an inspection ordered by District Police Chief Dr. Vaibhav Saxena IPS. Fadil was caught near the Manakkadav Bridge while attempting to sell ganja, carrying two bags—one containing five packs and the other four packs of ganja. Ratheesh fled after learning of Fadil’s capture, but was later apprehended in Srikrishnapuram by a special investigation team. Fadil had been instructed to deliver the ganja from a lodge in the Kalamassery area to Manakkadav. Six individuals, including a woman arrested in Binanipuram recently, are associates of Ratheesh, from whom 6.5 kilograms of ganja were seized. They were disguising their drug sales as an online food distribution service. The arrested individuals are part of a major ganja-selling gang in Kerala and are undergoing detailed interrogation.
