North and Middle Andaman: In a swift and decisive operation, Diglipur Police Station successfully uncovered an illegal drug sale in the R K Gram area, acting on credible information received. The operation was directed by Mr.Ankesh Yadav, DANIPS SDPO Diglipur, and executed by a dedicated team led by Inspector Vijay Kumar, SHO PS Diglipur. The team included SI Abdul Shakil, HCs V M Prasad, Bobby Jacob, PCs Neeraj Singh, Salman Gafoor, Bijoy Sarkar, Sushen Das, Anupama Sarkar, Anjana Paul, Soma Dey, and Ct Pawan, along with two independent witnesses.
Upon reaching the suspected shop, owned by Nirod Biswas, S/o Nimai Biswas, 43 years, R/o R K Gram, the team promptly conducted a search. They discovered a significant quantity of 85 grams of illicit ganja concealed among other items in the shop.
After thorough interrogation, the accused, Nirod Biswas, confessed to the illegal sale of ganja. He was subsequently served with a Notice U/s 35(3) of the BNSS, 2023, and a case has been registered at Diglipur Police Station under the NDPS Act for further investigation.
The entire operation was carried out under the supervision of Mr. Ankesh Yadav, DANIPS SDPO Diglipur, and overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District.
