Thrissur City: Applications are invited from eligible schools for the Student Police Cadet (SPC) Scheme. The Police Department, on behalf of the Government of Kerala, is seeking applications from Government and Government-Aided High Schools interested in launching the SPC Scheme. The application form, available for download on the official Kerala Police website (www.keralapolice.gov.in), must be completed by the school head teacher/principal and submitted to the SPC Directorate. The original form, along with the necessary documents, should be delivered directly to the District Nodal Office of the project. Additionally, Annexures (I), (II), and (III) must be completed and submitted with the application form, while a copy of the application, along with Annexure (IV), should be submitted directly to the respective police station. All application procedures must be finalized by 5 PM on 13.09.2024. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
To qualify for the SPC Scheme, the school must have at least 500 students in the high school section, with a minimum of 100 students enrolled in the 8th grade for the scheme. The school’s teacher-parent committee should be active, and two permanent high school teachers with a child-friendly attitude and willingness to participate should be appointed as the Community Police Officer and Additional Community Police Officer. These teachers should be under 50 years of age, physically and mentally fit, and willing to attend SPC project training programs. In schools where female students are participating, one of the appointed officers must be a woman.
The school must also provide facilities such as a dedicated room for the SPC office, a space for sports fitness training, and a secure changing room for SPC uniforms and PT gear. The applications will be reviewed by the respective SHOs and District Nodal Officers, who will verify the accuracy of the information provided. Schools that have previously submitted applications for the SPC Scheme, which were later withdrawn after the deadline, must submit new applications. If any information in the application is found to be false during verification, the school will be disqualified from the SPC Scheme.
