North and Middle Andaman: In a significant effort to promote road safety and traffic education among children, the North & Middle Andaman District Police launched the “Traffic Gyan” Abhiyan at the newly opened Children’s Traffic Park in Diglipur. This innovative program aims to teach students essential traffic rules through interactive and enjoyable activities.
As part of this initiative, students from various schools will visit the park to gain hands-on experience in road safety. The park simulates real traffic scenarios, allowing children to learn by participating in mock driving or cycling exercises. The goal is to create a safe and engaging environment where students can absorb important safety lessons while having fun.
Adding to the program’s appeal is the park’s mascot, “Traffic Buddy,” a traffic policeman with a Chotta Bheem face, making traffic education more relatable and exciting for the children. This character helps enhance their learning experience and reinforces the importance of road safety.
The initiative kicked off with 30 eager students from PM SHRI GSSS, Subash Gram, visiting the park. The session was inaugurated by Sh. Ankesh Yadav, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, under the guidance of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, SP(D) N&MA, who actively engaged the students in a lively signal game, introducing them to traffic signals in a fun and interactive manner.
The “Traffic Gyan” Abhiyan is a long-term initiative focused on nurturing responsible future citizens who prioritize road safety. By instilling these values early, the program aims to contribute to a safer community for all.
