Hyderabad: Ms. Sneha Mehra, IPS, DCP, South Zone, Hyderabad, held a coordination meeting today with members of the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee and Ganesh Utsav organizers at Reddy Jana Sangham Function Hall, within the Chatrinaka Police Station limits, to discuss security arrangements for the upcoming Ganesh immersion. She actively listened to the challenges faced by the organizers and assured them she would address these concerns with the ACPs and Station House Officers to ensure a smooth and peaceful Ganesh Utsav immersion.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Jahangir, Additional DCP South Zone; P. Chandrasekhar, ACP Charminar; N.L.N. Raju, ACP Falaknuma; N. Venkateswar Rao, ACP Mir Chowk; CH. Chandrasekhar, ACP Chatrinaka; and various Station House Officers of the South Zone, alongside committee members Srinivas and Rup Raj of the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee.
In her address, Ms. Mehra emphasized the police department’s commitment to ensuring the smooth installation and immersion of Ganesh idols as planned. She urged the committee members to cooperate with the police to maintain order during the event. She also highlighted that strict security measures are being put in place to prevent any disruptions during the Ganesh processions.
Ms. Mehra appealed to devotees to celebrate Ganesh Utsav, one of the state’s largest festivals, in a peaceful and grand manner. She encouraged an early start to the immersion procession to avoid delays and advised against taking the law into their own hands, even in provocative situations, stressing the need for a peaceful atmosphere throughout the festivities.
