Koderma: On September 23, 2024, Constable Suryanandan Kumar Sharma, currently serving at the Rajabar picket in a remote and underdeveloped region of Rajabar village, took a special initiative to visit Pachhiyadih Musahar Tola, a marginalized and underserved locality. His visit was part of a broader outreach effort aimed at bringing education and awareness to children who are deprived of basic educational facilities and opportunities.
During his visit, Constable Sharma engaged with the children and conducted interactive sessions, covering a wide range of crucial topics essential for their safety and well-being. He began by educating them about “Good Touch and Bad Touch,” equipping the children with the knowledge to recognize inappropriate behavior and empowering them to protect themselves from potential abuse. This is particularly vital for children in rural and vulnerable communities where awareness about such issues is often minimal.
He also introduced them to fundamental traffic rules, an important subject even for those living in remote areas, to instill road safety habits and an understanding of traffic signals and pedestrian behavior. The lessons extended to discussing the growing dangers of cyber fraud, a timely issue in the digital age, highlighting the importance of internet safety and guiding the children on how to avoid online scams and stay safe while using technology.
In addition to these topics, Constable Sharma took the opportunity to inform the children about the adverse effects of drug use, emphasizing the importance of staying away from harmful substances. He explained the long-term physical, mental, and social consequences of drug abuse, aiming to foster a strong anti-drug mindset among the youth.
The overall objective of this program was to not only provide education to children in these remote and disadvantaged areas but also to make them aware of critical life skills and personal safety measures. By addressing topics such as abuse prevention, road safety, cybercrime, and drug awareness, Constable Sharma’s initiative sought to empower these children with the knowledge to navigate various challenges they may face in life. Through this effort, he hoped to bridge the educational gap and provide guidance on vital issues that are often overlooked in remote communities.
