Cachar: In a major breakthrough, Cachar Police intercepted a large shipment of 18,000 Yaba tablets hidden in a truck at Banshkandi.
The seized narcotics are estimated to be worth approximately ₹15.5 crore, according to police officials. The drugs were concealed in a secret compartment within the vehicle.
In addition to the Yaba tablets, officers also confiscated 2 kilograms of methamphetamine from the same truck.
Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the smuggling operation and are currently being questioned at Lakhipur police station, where authorities are investigating the network responsible for trafficking such a significant quantity of drugs into Assam.
