Hyderabad City: At the direction of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, City Police Commissioner Mr. CV Anand, along with MAUD Principal Secretary Mr. Dana Kishore, convened a high-level meeting with officials from GHMC, Hydra, HMDA, Rachakonda, and Cyberabad Police to enhance coordination and ensure a swift response on roads and critical junctions during heavy, flash, and continuous rains for improved traffic management and public safety.
The meeting underscored the importance of a proactive and coordinated response from all stakeholders, discussing immediate measures necessary at critical junctions, such as proper diversions, quicker transmission of weather forecasts and traffic advisories, appropriate signage, and engineering changes to prevent water logging and improve traffic flow.
Participants shared their observations and the measures being implemented in their respective jurisdictions, outlining both immediate and long-term strategies to alleviate traffic congestion. The meeting also decided to hold a joint workshop and form a high-level committee comprising traffic commissioners from the Tri-Police Commissionerates, GHMC, and other departments. They discussed liaising with IT companies, monitoring and maintaining water levels in major water bodies, leveraging technology, establishing a common communication platform for all departments, and other related aspects.
