Thrissur City: The Thrissur City Police is organizing a Cyber Awareness Reels Competition in observance of Police Commemoration Day on October 21. The aim is to raise awareness about the increasing number of cyber frauds and keep the public vigilant. Following the success of the previous Reels competition on drug addiction, this contest will now focus on cyber scams. Open to all ages, participants can create Reels highlighting any of the growing scams, such as the FedEx Courier Scam or online trade scams promising high returns. Reels must be under 1 minute long and submitted to protsrcitypolice@gmail.com by October 15. Residents across the district, including individuals, voluntary organizations, schools, and colleges, are encouraged to participate. Entries should include the sender’s name, address, and phone number. Organizations should also provide their contact information. Winners will be chosen via a Gallup Poll on the Thrissur City Police’s Facebook and Instagram pages, with the top three reels receiving the Thrissur City Police Commissioner Award. For more information on cyber frauds and safety precautions, participants can use resources like social media posts and videos from Kerala Police, Thrissur City Police, and other district police, or consult with police officials to prepare their scripts.
