Hyderabad City: As per the Hyderabad City Police Act, read with the Cyberabad (Metropolitan Area) Police Act, 2004, and Rules, 2005, Section 3(1), it is mandatory to obtain a police license for operating a public place of halt, place of entertainment, amusement establishment, pub, etc., to prevent inconvenience, delays, danger, or damage to nearby residents or passersby.
On 27.09.2024, three police teams, in collaboration with the Pollution Control Board, conducted a drive to inspect entertainment licenses and check sound levels at various pubs and entertainment venues. It was discovered that 17 pubs were operating without the necessary licenses and exceeded the permissible noise limits, thereby violating the Environment Protection Act, 1986, and the Hyderabad City Police Act, read with the Cyberabad (Metropolitan Area) Police Act, 2004.
As a result, 17 cases were registered for these violations, and sound systems were seized for further action. In light of this, all establishments, amusement places, and pubs are advised to obtain the required police licenses or permissions to operate within permitted hours. Failure to comply will result in appropriate legal action.
