Karimganj: Based on a credible intelligence input, a vehicle was intercepted at Churaibari checkpoint in the district along the Assam-Tripura border.
On thorough search, the karimganj police team recovered 8 packets of Yaba tablets which totals 80,000 Yaba tablets from the hood of the vehicle.
The police team apprehended two persons identified as Tinku Malakar and Sujit Deb.
According to the police the market value of the seized drugs is estimated to be around Rs.8 crore.
The Chief Minister of Assam Mr. Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated the Karimganj police team for doing such a good job.
