Bilaspur: In a joint effort with the Narcotics Control Bureau, a comprehensive two-day training workshop was organized for police officers from the Bilaspur and Surguja divisions, focusing on drug-related issues. The workshop, which took place in Bilaspur on the 14th and 15th of October, was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Sanjeev Shukla, Inspector General of Police (Bilaspur).
The primary aim of the workshop was to enhance the capacity and knowledge of law enforcement officers in combating narcotics-related crimes, equipping them with advanced skills, strategies, and legal frameworks needed to address drug trafficking and abuse in their respective regions. A total of 98 police officers, comprising 66 from the Bilaspur division and 32 from the Surguja division, participated in the intensive training sessions.
Throughout the two days, officers were engaged in detailed discussions, case studies, and practical exercises designed to improve their understanding of narcotics control measures, investigation techniques, and the legal protocols involved in prosecuting drug-related offenses. Expert facilitators from the Narcotics Control Bureau provided insights into the latest trends in drug trafficking, methods for identifying and handling narcotics, and strategies for building stronger cases against offenders.
This initiative reflects the growing need for specialized training among police forces to address the evolving challenges posed by drug-related crimes in the region. The workshop concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to continue these efforts through sustained training programs and inter-agency collaboration to curb the spread of narcotics.
