Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram City: Due to tarring works being carried out on the Petta Pallimuk-Kannammula road in Thiruvananthapuram, a comprehensive traffic control plan has been put in place. These restrictions will be in effect on October 23, 2024, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and are aimed at ensuring public safety and smooth progress of the road work.
Full Traffic Restriction:
The Petta Pallimuk-Kannammula road will be completely closed for all vehicular traffic during the specified period. This includes heavy vehicles, light motor vehicles, and public transport.
Diversions for Heavy Vehicles and KSRTC Buses:
For vehicles coming from Petta towards Pallimuk-Kannammula: All heavy vehicles, including Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses that are supposed to use the Pallimuk-Kannammula road from the Petta side must take an alternative route. These vehicles should divert through Patur-General Hospital-Palayam route to bypass the restricted area.
For vehicles coming from East Kotta towards Pallimuk-Kannammula: Heavy vehicles, including KSRTC buses, that would normally take the Pallimuk-Kannammula route from the East Kotta side are required to follow a different route via Palayam-Pattom.
Routes for Light Motor Vehicles:
Light motor vehicles that need to travel to Kannammula are permitted to use the Petta Nalumuk-Kannammula one-way road. This route will remain accessible to lighter vehicles even as the main road undergoes maintenance.
