Telangana, Hyderabad: In a significant breakthrough, the Cyberabad Police, under the leadership of DCP Crimes, along with the CCS, IT Cell, and Social Media team, have successfully recovered 800 stolen and lost mobile phones over the past 35 days using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. The recovered phones are valued at Rs. 2.40 crore.
During a media conference at the Cyberabad Commissionerate meeting hall, DCP Crimes Narsimha Reddy announced that over 50 police officers worked diligently for a month to seize 800 mobile phones worth more than Rs. 2 crore, which were returned to their rightful owners. He emphasized the importance of promptly registering lost phones on the CEIR portal. Additionally, he cautioned that cases will be registered against the buying and selling of second-hand mobile phones without proper documentation.
