Uttarakhand, Almora: Earlier today, the Deghat Police Station under the Almora District Police conducted a comprehensive verification drive focused on ensuring compliance with local regulations. As part of this initiative, action was taken under the Uttarakhand Police Act against a contractor found to have employed laborers without completing the required verification process. A fine of Rs. 5,000 was imposed on the contractor for failing to adhere to these legal requirements. During the drive, police personnel carried out verification checks on approximately 40 tenants and laborers to confirm their identities and registration statuses. Authorities also emphasized the importance of verification to the public, instructing residents to complete verification for their tenants and laborers without delay to avoid facing potential legal consequences. This effort aims to enhance security and accountability within the community by promoting adherence to the verification process.
