Punjab, Amritsar: Punjab’s largest heroin seizure to date took place in Amritsar, where authorities confiscated an impressive haul of 105 kg of heroin, along with 31.93 kg of anhydrous caffeine, and several firearms. This significant operation has disrupted a sophisticated cross-border smuggling network allegedly responsible for trafficking large quantities of narcotics into India.
As part of the ongoing crackdown, law enforcement officials apprehended two key associates believed to be linked to Nav Bhullar, a Turkey-based drug kingpin with suspected ties to cross-border drug trafficking. Preliminary investigations suggest that the drugs were transported into India from Pakistan, underscoring the international scope of the network.
An FIR has been registered at the Police Station of Special State Operations Cell (SSOC) in Amritsar, marking the initiation of a thorough investigation aimed at identifying and dismantling all remaining elements of the smuggling syndicate. Efforts are currently focused on tracing the network’s full operational structure, revealing its supply chains, and capturing additional associates to curb this illicit flow of narcotics.Top of Form
