Manipur,Thoubal: On October 28, 2024, Manipur Police apprehended eight members of the UNLF (P) in Thoubal District for engaging in illegal activities, including threatening individuals with sophisticated weapons and obstructing the legal land demarcation process. The arrested individuals were identified as Laishram Atangba Meitei alias Ningthoujao (24), Leishangthem Nongpok Meitei alias Singajit (26), Thongam Khangakpa Meitei alias Jatra (45), Thiyam Ningthou Meitei alias Ingocha (46), Akoijam Thoupangba Meitei alias Thoiba (24), Thounaojam Sugnu Ngakpa alias Yaiphaba Meitei (26), Ngasepam Nongthouba Meitei alias Romio (40), and Sorokhaibam Nganba alias Dayananda Singh (27). Authorities recovered various items from their possession, including three AK-47 rifles, two AK-56 rifles, one M-16 rifle, one 9mm pistol, 147 live rounds of AK-47 ammunition, 20 live rounds of M-16 ammunition, 25 live rounds of 9mm ammunition, 16 mobile phones, and one unregistered Fortuner SUV.
