Kerala, Pathanamthitta: Law enforcement authorities in Pathanamthitta district have apprehended a young man identified as Jinto George, aged 39, in connection with a series of criminal activities, which include the assault of an on-duty home guard and interference with official law enforcement operations. The incident, which took place around 3:00 p.m. in Kumbaza, involved Shibu Kurian, a home guard associated with the Pathanamthitta Traffic Enforcement Unit, who was carrying out his second shift at a traffic control point in the area.
According to reports, Jinto George, who is allegedly involved in multiple prior criminal cases, was found to be intoxicated at the time of the incident. Witnesses indicated that he confronted and attacked the home guard, thereby impeding the officer’s ability to perform his traffic management duties. This act of aggression not only disrupted the flow of traffic but also posed a risk to public safety, leading to immediate police intervention. The police promptly arrested Jinto George at the Kumbaza Varuwathal residence, where he was located, and have since initiated further inquiries into both this incident and his previous offenses.
