Kerala, Kasaragod: Following a proposal from the Kasaragod DYSP to enhance night patrols in the Manjeswaram police station jurisdiction, and based on information received about a group allegedly planning a major robbery in the area, local authorities have ramped up vehicle inspections and night patrolling with community cooperation.
On 09/11/24, Inspector Anub Kumar and Night Patrol Officer ASI Sadan, along with their team, were conducting vehicle checks in the station’s border areas when they observed a white Swift car without a number plate approaching from the Vorkadi side. Upon signaling the car to stop, it sped off toward Daigoli. During the ensuing chase, the occupants reportedly assaulted locals in an attempt to escape. However, two individuals were apprehended by the locals and handed over to the police.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, officers found no visible registration number and discovered various items in the trunk, including a gas cylinder, two oxygen cylinders, a gas cutter, weapons like a koduwal and pickaxe, a toolbox, a monkey cap, gloves, and other tools. The police believe these items indicate the passengers’ intent to commit robbery.
The arrested individuals were identified as Faisal, son of Ibrahim, from Kodiullal, Mangalore, and Syed Aman, son of Syed Tanveer, from Kacheri Mohalla, Tumkur, both residents of Karnataka. They have been charged under various section of the Law. Authorities have intensified their search for the four remaining suspects who are still at large.
