Andhra Pradesh, Anakapalli: The Anakapalli Police have introduced the “Sankalpam” initiative in Payakaraopeta, spearheaded by the SP and Visakhapatnam Range DIG, to address drug abuse through awareness programs and enforcement efforts across five districts. Highlighting drug abuse as a societal issue requiring collective action, the DIG urged the public to verify information from social media to prevent the spread of misinformation and warned against digital scams, advising victims to report such incidents by calling 1930 or using the cybercrime portal. The SP stressed the stringent penalties for marijuana-related offenses, which can lead to imprisonment of up to 20 years, and encouraged students to avoid drugs and cultivate positive habits.
