<![CDATA[A 36-year-old electrician was beaten to death by a three-member gang in a drunken brawl here on Sunday late night. Erode town police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to aprehend the 3. The deceased was identified as Mohammed Ansar, 36, of VVCR Nagar. He is survived by his Mumtaj, 30. On Sunday night, Ansar, along with his friends, consumed alcohol at Kuppipallam near VVCR Nagar. When Ansar started his bike to return home, another two-wheeler with two pillion riders accidentally rammed his vehicle. Angered by the incident, Ansar picked up a fight with the 3 on the two-wheeler, who were also drunk. They retaliated and pushed Ansar who fell down and hit his head on a big boulder on the ground. Ansar succumbed to head injury and died on the spot. People in the vicinity immediately informed the Erode town police, who sent the body to the Erode government hospital for postmortem.
