Uttarakhand, Pithoragarh: In preparation for the upcoming municipal elections and to ensure the maintenance of peace and law and order, the Dharchula police conducted a detailed inspection of the strong room under the directives of Superintendent of Police (SP) Mrs. Rekha Yadav. The inspection was led by Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Dharchula, Mr. Vijendra Shah, accompanied by a team of police personnel.
During the inspection, the team thoroughly reviewed the security arrangements of the strong room to ensure its readiness and compliance with election protocols. Special emphasis was placed on identifying potential vulnerabilities and implementing robust measures to safeguard the facility. The implementing agency was instructed to enhance security by installing barricades around critical areas and setting up high-resolution CCTV cameras for round-the-clock surveillance.
In addition to the strong room inspection, arrangements for the accommodation and deployment of police personnel during the election period were also assessed. The police force’s lodging facilities were examined to ensure they meet the required standards for comfort and functionality, thereby enabling effective and efficient discharge of their duties during the elections.
This proactive measure reflects the commitment of the police administration to uphold peace, ensure fairness in the electoral process, and provide a secure environment for the conduct of the municipal elections.
