Kerala, Kozhikode: Anil Shonkar, a 36-year-old migrant worker from Maujiya, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested for allegedly possessing a significant quantity of banned tobacco products intended for illegal sale. The operation was carried out by the Nallalam Police Inspector and his team as part of an intensified crackdown on the unauthorized trade of restricted substances.
According to officials, Shonkar was found in possession of the contraband during a routine inspection, following a tip-off regarding the illicit sale of banned tobacco products in the area. The seized materials, which are prohibited under existing regulations, were reportedly being distributed through unauthorized channels.
Law enforcement authorities have stated that a detailed investigation is underway to trace the source of the illegal goods and identify any larger network involved in the transportation and sale of these prohibited products. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
