Chhattisgarh, Balodabazar-Bhatapara: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the District Balodabazar-Bhatapara Police successfully arrested two interstate individuals involved in the illegal smuggling of ganja. The accused were caught in possession of the contraband while attempting to find a buyer near the Underbridge area in Bhatapara. Acting on intelligence and surveillance, law enforcement officers swiftly intervened, leading to the seizure of a substantial quantity of the illegal drug.
During the operation, a total of 25.270 kilograms of ganja, with an estimated market value of Rs.2, 52,700, was recovered from the possession of the accused. Additionally, the police confiscated two mobile phones, which are believed to have been used for communication and coordination in their smuggling activities. These devices are now being examined for further leads in the investigation.
The individuals arrested in connection with the smuggling operation have been identified as:
Dashrath Nishad, aged 34 years, a resident ofDistrict West Champaran, Bihar.
Anand Nishad, aged35 years, a resident ofDistrict West Champaran, Bihar.
The police are currently conducting further inquiries to ascertain the extent of the smuggling network and to identify any possible associates involved in the illegal drug trade. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to curbing narcotics-related crimes and ensuring strict legal action against individuals engaged in such unlawful activities.
