Assam, Guwahati: In a decisive crackdown on narcotics, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the City Guwahati Police Department (CGPD), in coordination with Noonmati Police Station, apprehended a drug peddler near the Noonmati Forest Gate on April 20.
The accused, identified as Babul Choudhury alias Jilapi (21), was caught red-handed with 10 vials of heroin, weighing approximately 13.20 grams. Swift action by the joint police team led to his immediate arrest, and legal proceedings have been initiated under relevant sections of the law.
This operation underscores the continued efforts of Guwahati Police in curbing the drug menace and safeguarding the youth from the grip of substance abuse.
