Karnataka, Chikkamagalur: In a heartwarming initiative to promote learning, wellness, and creativity, the Chikkamagalur District Police have organized a free summer camp for children of personnel from the police department, district administration, and other government departments. The camp will be held from April 20 to April 29, 2025.
The inaugural ceremony was held today and graced by Dr. Vikram Amate, IPS, Superintendent of Police, who officially launched the camp. Sri Jayakumar C.T., Additional SP, Mr. Shailendra H.M., DySP of Chikkamagalur sub-division, and other police officers were present during the event.
A total of 92 children have enrolled in the camp, which offers a wide array of engaging activities including:
Exercise, aerobics, and taekwondo
Training in indoor and outdoor games
First aid awareness
Dance, music, painting, and comedy workshops
Art exhibitions
Lectures by dietitians
Demonstrations by dog squads and fire services
A two-day educational tour
This unique initiative reflects the people-friendly and community-oriented face of policing, aiming to build strong bonds with the next generation and promote overall development during the summer holidays.
