Karnataka, Chikkamagalur: A monthly district-level NARCO Coordination Center (NCORD) meeting was held at the Chikkamagalur District Police Office, chaired by Superintendent of Police Dr. Vikram Amate, IPS. Organized by the Police Department, the meeting focused on unified strategies to combat drug abuse and trafficking in the district.
This initiative, launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs, brings together multiple departments for coordinated action against the growing threat of drug addiction. Representatives from departments including Police, Forest, Health, Education, Excise, Revenue, Minority Welfare, Backward Classes Welfare, Prisons, Food Safety and Drug Administration, Horticulture, Tourism, Labour, along with consultants from Alcoholics Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center and AIT College participated.
The collaborative discussion emphasized prevention, awareness, and rehabilitation, with all stakeholders committing to proactive and sustained efforts to eliminate the drug menace from the region.
