Buxar, June 8, 2025: In an emotionally charged and solemn ceremony, the people of Buxar district gathered to bid a final farewell to Martyr Sunil Yadav, who laid down his life in the line of duty during Operation Sindoor. A native of Narbatpur village under Chausa block, Sunil Yadav was remembered not just as a brave soldier, but as a symbol of unyielding patriotism, dedication, and sacrifice.
The funeral procession was marked with full state honours. A ceremonial guard of honour was accorded by the local police and paramilitary forces, and a wreath-laying ceremony was conducted to pay homage to the departed hero.
The Superintendent of Police, Buxar, along with other senior officials from the district administration and police department, paid floral tributes and offered their salutes. The SP bowed before the mortal remains of the martyr and lauded his courage and dedication to protecting the nation. “Martyr Sunil Yadav’s supreme sacrifice will never be forgotten. His bravery is an inspiration for generations to come,” the SP said.
Hundreds of villagers, local leaders, and schoolchildren stood in silent tribute, some with tears in their eyes, as patriotic songs played in the background. Many were seen holding the Indian flag and chanting slogans like “Shaheed Sunil Amar Rahe!” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai!” throughout the funeral rites.
The last rites were performed with traditional honours by the martyr’s family. His parents, visibly grief-stricken but proud, lit the pyre with the support of fellow villagers and officers in attendance.
The entire region of Buxar came to a standstill as people from neighboring villages and towns joined the procession, expressing solidarity and gratitude. The local administration ensured all necessary arrangements and security for the dignified conduct of the ceremony.
Martyr Sunil Yadav’s name now joins the roll of valour among Bihar’s sons who gave their all for the motherland. The government and administration have promised support to the bereaved family, and plans are underway to name a local institution or road in his memory, as a lasting tribute to his legacy.
