Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, June 2025 – In a major breakthrough, Pauri Police have unearthed a meticulously orchestrated financial scam amounting to approximately ₹2.5 crore within the GMOU Limited (Garhwal Motor Owners Union) office in Kotdwar. Acting swiftly and effectively, the police arrested nine individuals, including former officers and current employees, for their involvement in the embezzlement.
The accused are alleged to have siphoned off funds by generating fake bills under various expense heads such as petrol pump construction, computer repairs, furniture maintenance, religious rituals, and electricity-water usage. The scam also involved fraudulent withdrawals by showing deceased employees as active and forging their signatures to claim payments.
This operation reflects the Pauri Police’s firm commitment to financial integrity and accountability. Superintendent of Police and the investigating team were praised for their diligent efforts in cracking the conspiracy and bringing those responsible to justice.
