Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, August 29: District SP Sri KV Maheshwara Reddy, IPS, has directed police officers to speed up investigations into pending property-related cases through comprehensive investigation and reliance on physical evidence.
During a review meeting held at Kasibugga on Friday, the SP, accompanied by DSP, CI V. Apparao, and Sub-Inspectors from the subdivision, assessed the progress of investigations into property offences including house burglaries, vehicle thefts, temple thefts, chain snatchings, and other day and night crimes.
The SP emphasized that every police station must thoroughly examine grave and non-grave property cases, expedite pending investigations, and ensure arrests of accused persons. He instructed officers to analyze reasons for delays and to improve case disposal rates with focused efforts.
Highlighting the importance of scientific and method-based investigation, SP Reddy said that the nature and type of crime often reveal crucial leads. He urged the use of special teams to closely monitor the movements of old criminals and suspects, thereby preventing repeat offences and increasing property recovery percentages.
The SP further directed officers to swiftly implement court-issued warrants (NBWs) and maintain transparency in reporting pending cases, efforts made, and progress achieved. He reiterated that strengthening investigation standards and timely enforcement will enhance public trust and ensure effective crime control. The review meeting saw active participation from Kasibugga DSP, CI V. Apparao, and SIs of the subdivision.
