Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, October 18, 2025: In an effort to enhance digital safety among youth, a Cybercrime Awareness Program was conducted at SKP Engineering College, Thiruvannamalai.
The program was organized as per the directions of Dr. M. Sudhakar, I.P.S., Superintendent of Police, Tiruvannamalai District, and held under the leadership of Mr. M. Palani, Additional Superintendent of Police, Cyber Crime Division.
During the session, students were educated on the various forms of cybercrimes, including online frauds, identity theft, phishing, social media misuse, and cyber bullying. Officers emphasized the importance of safe online practices, such as avoiding sharing personal information, using strong passwords, and reporting suspicious online activity immediately.
Awareness was also created about the Police Assistant App, which enables citizens to seek help and report incidents quickly and securely. To further spread awareness, informational pamphlets detailing cyber safety tips were distributed among students.
The initiative aims to empower young citizens to navigate the digital world responsibly and securely, reinforcing the police department’s commitment to building a cyber-safe Tiruvannamalai.
