Anakapalli, Andhra Pradesh: Reaffirming its strong commitment to the safety and protection of women, the Anakapalli District Police organized a large-scale awareness conference for women employees at the Brandix Company, Achyutapuram, as per the directions of District Superintendent of Police Sri Tuhin Sinha, IPS.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of DSP, Women Police Station, Sri E. Srinivasulu, with the active participation of One Stop Centre representative Ms. S.Y. Ramulamma, who provided comprehensive guidance on women’s rights, safety laws, and available support systems.
Addressing the gathering, officials emphasized that every woman employee should download the ‘Shakti’ mobile app, which functions as an emergency safety tool enabling quick police assistance. Participants were also advised to remain vigilant against cybercrime by not sharing personal information or photographs with unknown persons.
Ms. Ramulamma explained the free legal aid, medical assistance, and counseling services available through the toll-free number 181, assuring women that these services are designed to support those facing harassment or distress. Women were encouraged to report any form of harassment—inside or outside the workplace—without fear, with police assuring strict confidentiality of complainants’ details.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion, during which officials addressed the queries and concerns of the women employees. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from Brandix management representatives and a large number of women staff, reflecting the success of the initiative.
The awareness conference stands as a strong example of proactive policing and community partnership, reinforcing that women’s safety remains a top priority for the Anakapalli District Police.
