Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, January 1, 2026: In a significant ceremony held at the Police Headquarters, Bhopal, Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana conferred ranks on promoted Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, following their elevation by the Home Department of the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Congratulating the officers, the DGP stated that the promotions were a reflection of their dedicated, disciplined, and loyal service to the state. He commended their role in effectively maintaining law and order and expressed confidence that they would continue to demonstrate strong leadership and professionalism in the years ahead. Emphasizing values and conduct, Shri Makwana urged the officers to maintain a work culture that would serve as an inspiration to fellow officers and personnel.
The DGP also highlighted the State Government’s commitment to timely promotions, noting that empowering officers through career progression strengthens morale and enhances policing outcomes across the state.
During the ceremony, ranks were conferred on IGs Shri Niranjan B. Wayangankar, Shri Shiyas A., and Shri Lalit Shakhyawar, DIGs Shri Raghavendra Singh Belvanshi, Smt. Kiranlata Kerketta, Shri Riyaz Iqbal, Shri Rahul Kumar Lodha, and Shri Vivek Singh, and Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Hitesh Chaudhary.
As per the Home Department order dated December 31, 2025, a total of 18 IPS officers of the Madhya Pradesh cadre have been promoted with effect from January 1, 2026. Notably, Shri Ashutosh Roy was promoted from ADG to Special DGP, Shri Pramod Verma from IG to ADG, three officers from DIG to IG, and several officers elevated to the rank of DIG.
The ceremony underscored the department’s recognition of merit, commitment, and excellence in policing, reinforcing the leadership strength of the Madhya Pradesh Police.
