Guwahati, Assam: Acting on specific intelligence, a special team of the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) from Basistha Police Station conducted a raid at a house located on Sangam Path, Bakrapara, and successfully apprehended two drug peddlers.
The arrested persons have been identified as Samulya Nama Das (43) of Lakhipur and Rukya Khatun (39) of Chhaygaon. During the operation, the police seized 13.5 kilograms of ganja along with two mobile handsets.
Legal action has been initiated against the accused. The swift and effective operation highlights the EGPD’s sustained efforts to curb drug trafficking and ensure a drug-free society.
