Thiruvananthapuram Rural, Kerala: In a commendable initiative under the Thiruvananthapuram Rural District Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Awareness Seminars 2024–2025, the Forest Department and the Police have jointly constructed a football ground at Podiyakkala, addressing a long-pending demand of local children.
The need for a playground was raised by children during the adalat held at Podiyakkala Unnat under the Vithura police station limits on 17.03.2025. Taking swift and compassionate action on the grievance, the Forest Department and the Police collaborated to develop a football ground at Podiyakkala, which was formally dedicated to the residents on 21.01.2026. This people-centric initiative reflects the district administration’s and police department’s commitment to inclusive development, child welfare, and community empowerment
