Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, January 31, 2026: Demonstrating its commitment to modern policing and emergency preparedness, the Madhya Pradesh Police conducted two significant training programmes at the Police Training Institutions, Bhauri, Bhopal, focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and disaster management in collaboration with the NDRF.

In parallel, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted an intensive disaster management and CBRN mock drill for trainee Deputy Superintendents of Police, new recruits and staff at the Police Academy. The NDRF team imparted hands-on training in life-saving techniques such as CPR, airway clearance, bleeding control and safe evacuation of injured persons.

A live mock exercise simulating a gas leak and chemical accident was jointly carried out by the NDRF, SDRF and the municipal fire brigade. Trainees practiced rescue operations, decontamination procedures and safe handling of hazardous materials using advanced equipment including PPE kits, radiation-protection suits, Mark-4 oxygen cylinders and face masks.

Dr. Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, Deputy Director of the Academy, emphasized that police personnel are the “first responders” during any disaster, making such training vital for public safety. NDRF DIG Shri Manoj Sharma and Assistant Director (Training) Smt. Rashmi Pandey were also present, encouraging the trainees.

The initiative reflects the proactive approach of Madhya Pradesh Police in equipping its force with cutting-edge technology skills and robust disaster response capabilities to better serve and protect the public.
