Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka: As part of the community outreach initiative “Police Girlfriend” scheme, the PSI of DCRB visited the Pre-Matric Tribal Girls’ Hostel on January 31, 2026, and held an interactive session with the students.
During the visit, the officer patiently listened to the grievances and concerns of the students and assured them of necessary support. The students were also sensitized on important safety issues including the dangers of gangs, cybercrime awareness, provisions of the POCSO Act, and the importance of following traffic rules.
The initiative reflects the caring and people-friendly approach of the police in building trust with young students, especially from vulnerable communities. The awareness session was well received by the hostel inmates, who appreciated the police for guiding them on safety, legal rights and responsible behavior; reinforce the role of police as protectors and mentors.
