Chennai, Tamil Nadu: At the 2026 Republic Day celebrations, the Tamil Nadu Police Department won the third prize in the decorated float parade showcasing various government schemes and initiatives. The colourful police tableau drew appreciation for effectively highlighting public service and community-focused policing efforts.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.K. Stalin, presented the third prize trophy to the Police Department in recognition of its impressive presentation. The award was received by the Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Thiru Dheeraj Kumar, IAS, the Director General of Police (in-charge), Thiru G. Venkataraman, IPS, and the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai, Thiru A. Arun, IPS.
This achievement reflects the creativity, teamwork and commitment of the Tamil Nadu Police in engaging the public and showcasing their service-oriented initiatives.
