Dindigul, Tamil Nadu: In a commendable display of prompt investigation and coordinated action, the Tamil Nadu Police successfully solved a gold theft case reported near Puthur Petrol Pump, Mandapam, in Vedasanthur.
A few days ago, unidentified persons allegedly broke into the residence of 80-year-old Shanmugam during the night, assaulted him, and decamped with approximately five sovereigns of gold jewellery. Taking the matter seriously, Mr. Pradeep, Superintendent of Police, Dindigul District, directed immediate action.
Under the supervision of Pavithra, DSP, Vedasanthur, and Inspector Ganesanmoorthy of Vedasanthur Police Station, a special team led by Sub-Inspector Balasubramanian launched an intensive investigation. Police personnel meticulously examined CCTV footage from the surrounding areas and gathered crucial evidence.
Based on technical analysis and field investigation, the team identified and apprehended three individuals involved in the crime, including two juveniles. The arrested accused include Kathir alias Karuppasamy (21) and two 17-year-old boys from Melmatinipatti, Vedasanthur.
The stolen gold jewellery was successfully recovered from the accused. Additionally, police seized mobile phones and a two-wheeler allegedly used in the commission of the offence.
The swift detection of the case and recovery of stolen property highlight the vigilance and efficiency of the district police in ensuring justice and safeguarding citizens. Further investigation is underway.
