Dindigul, Tamil Nadu: A study group meeting on the management of forest fires in the eco-sensitive zone of Kodaikanal Wildlife Sanctuary was held at the District Collectorate on Thursday under the chairmanship of District Collector M. N. Poongodi Saravanan.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the various forest fire prevention and management measures being implemented by the Forest Department in the Kodaikanal and Dindigul regions. Officials reviewed ongoing activities aimed at strengthening monitoring, early detection, and rapid response to forest fire incidents to protect wildlife and natural resources.
District Forest Officer Aravind and District Forest Officer Naga Satish Kidijala participated in the meeting along with other forest officials and shared updates on preventive strategies and coordinated response mechanisms.
Officials emphasized the importance of joint efforts, continuous monitoring, and public awareness to effectively prevent forest fires and safeguard the region’s biodiversity.
