Kapurthala, Punjab: Acting on precise intelligence, Kapurthala Police successfully dismantled an arms supply module, arresting two individuals, including a minor, and recovering five native pistols (7.65 mm).
Preliminary investigations reveal that the arrested persons were allegedly operating under instructions from foreign handlers based in the Philippines and the UAE. They had procured illegal weapons from Madhya Pradesh and were supplying them to local criminal gangs. The seized firearms were reportedly used in firing incidents and forceful recovery activities in the region.
Authorities have confirmed that further investigations are underway to map past activities and connections, aiming to fully dismantle the criminal network.
The Punjab Police reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating illegal weapons networks and maintaining peace and security across Punjab.
