Sundargarh, Odisha: In preparation for a peaceful and well-organized Ram Navami 2026, a coordination meeting was held at the District Police Office in Rourkela, bringing together senior administrative and police officials along with members of the Akhada Committees.
The meeting focused on ensuring smooth conduct, public safety, and effective coordination during the celebrations. Key decisions included:
* Procession Timings: Starting from Bisra Chowk after 1:00 PM and concluding at Ambedkar Chowk by 8:00 PM
* Safety Measures: Participants advised to avoid carrying weapons, bursting crackers, or raising inflammatory slogans; risky stunts strictly prohibited
* Noise & Traffic Control: DJs banned and sound levels restricted to 65 decibels as per guidelines; each Akhada limited to two vehicles to prevent congestion
* Volunteer Coordination: Committees to submit volunteer lists with contact details and ensure issuance of identity cards
* Immersion Arrangements: Rituals designated at Balughat
Officials appreciated the cooperation of Akhada members and reaffirmed the commitment of the Odisha Police to ensure a safe, disciplined, and harmonious festive environment for all devotees.
