Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh: In a commendable community policing initiative, the “Palle Nidra” (Village Night Stay) program was successfully conducted on March 28, 2026, under the guidance of SP G. Bindu Madhav IPS in Kakinada district.
The program was organized in the Navara area under Samarlakota Police Station limits and the Murari area under Gandepalli Police Station limits, aiming to strengthen “Friendly Policing” and create a crime-free environment in villages. Police officials interacted directly with residents, building trust and promoting awareness on key legal and safety issues.
During the initiative, detailed awareness was provided on laws related to the protection of women and children, especially the POCSO Act, and the legal consequences of child marriage. Citizens were also educated about cybercrime prevention, road safety measures such as wearing helmets, and the importance of following traffic rules.
Additionally, the youth were advised to stay away from harmful habits like drug abuse and other addictions, while the public was urged to avoid anti-social activities such as gambling. The police also appealed for active cooperation from the community in maintaining peace and safety.
The “Palle Nidra” initiative reflects the police department’s commitment to grassroots engagement, crime prevention, and fostering a safe and responsible society.
