Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh: The “Abhayam Helmet Bank” initiative launched under the guidance of District SP Sri K.V. Maheshwara Reddy, IPS continues to receive an encouraging response from the public, leading to increased awareness about helmet usage and road safety among motorists.
As part of the programme, traffic police conducted a special awareness drive at the Kudali traffic signal point under the supervision of Traffic Inspector V. Ramarao. Motorists who were found wearing helmets were appreciated and encouraged by distributing chocolates, while helmets were also handed over through the Abhayam Helmet Bank initiative.
Police personnel displayed placards and educated two-wheeler riders about the importance of wearing helmets to prevent serious head injuries during road accidents. Officials emphasized that wearing a helmet is essential not only for personal safety but also for the well-being of family members.
Traffic Inspector Ramarao urged all motorists to strictly follow traffic rules and wear helmets during travel. Traffic personnel Durgaprasad, Srinivasa Rao, Soma Sekhar, Dora, Das, and other staff members participated in the awareness programme.
