Alappuzha, Kerala: Personnel of Pattanakkad Police Station extended timely assistance to a family whose vehicle broke down late at night near Cherthala Uzhuva Devi Temple on May 25, 2026.
A family from Chavara, Kollam, was travelling when their vehicle developed a mechanical issue at around 1:30 AM. After contacting the Kerala Police emergency helpline 112, police personnel reached the location within minutes and immediately began efforts to help the stranded passengers.
ASI Preetha, along with Senior Civil Police Officers Praveen and Manu, attempted multiple methods to restart the vehicle, including checking the bonnet, arranging a replacement battery, and trying to push-start the car. When those efforts failed, the officers contacted a mechanic and quickly arranged a jumper cable.
Using the police vehicle, the officers successfully charged the battery and restored the vehicle, enabling the family to safely continue their journey. The prompt response and dedicated efforts of the police personnel were widely appreciated by the passengers.
