<![CDATA[A team of land survey officials led by senior IAS officer Mr.Munish Moudgil, Commissioner, Survey Settlement and Land Records, was prevented from carrying out a survey in Indira Nagar and attacked on Friday. Mr. Moudgil requested for police backup as he and his team came under attack. The police reached the spot and arrested three persons – Pawan Kumar, Parashuram and Ranjith. The three are allegedly related to individuals who have raked up the land dispute. Mr. Moudgil said he was surveying a land parcel of 1 acre 12 guntas, following a court direction. While BDA had acquired the land, private individuals had contended it in court, saying it was a Garmthana property. “Two persons tried to prevent us from carrying out the survey. When we insisted that they cannot intrude, another person came and hurled a glass bottle injuring our supervisor,” he said. “It was surprising to see the three not run away even when the police were on the way, indicating the impunity with which the land mafia operates,” the official said.]]>
