Alappuzha, Kerala: In a significant step towards strengthening technology-driven policing, the Alappuzha District Police inaugurated a two-day iCOPS training programme for police officers from all police stations across the district.
The training programme was inaugurated by District Police Chief Vishnu Pradeep T. K. IPS, who emphasized the importance of leveraging modern technology to enhance policing efficiency, improve investigations, and deliver faster, more effective public services.
The iCOPS training is designed to equip police personnel with the knowledge and practical skills required to effectively use the Integrated Criminal Operations and Police Systems (iCOPS). The sessions focus on improving digital documentation, case management, data analysis, and information sharing, enabling officers to carry out investigations and administrative tasks more efficiently.
By familiarizing officers with advanced digital tools and best practices, the programme aims to strengthen operational efficiency, improve coordination between police units, and enhance transparency in policing. It also supports the department’s broader vision of adopting technology to provide faster, more responsive, and citizen-friendly police services.
The initiative reflects the Kerala Police’s commitment to continuous professional development and modernization. Through regular capacity-building programmes like iCOPS training, the department is empowering its personnel with the skills needed to meet the evolving challenges of law enforcement while ensuring better service delivery and improved public safety.
