<![CDATA[Mr. G. Karthikeyan assumed charge as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Coimbatore range, on Monday. Prior to his current posting, Mr. Karthikeyan was DIG of Dindigul range. After taking charge, Mr. Karthikeyan told media that special focus will be given to prevent crimes like chain-snatching and fatal accidents in addition to law and order management. He added that a meeting of Naxal Special Division will be held to tighten Anti-Naxal activities on the Tamil Nadu side bordering Kerala. Mr. Karthikeyan assumed the current post which was lying vacant since former DIG Mr. Deepak M. Damor was promoted and posted as the Inspector General of Police of the Tamil Nadu railway police in Chennai city.]]>
