Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh: Demonstrating their respect for India’s great nation-builders, the Srikakulam District Police solemnly observed the birth anniversary of Sri Pragada Kotaiah, popularly known as ‘Praja Bandhu’ (Friend of the People) and the ‘Father of the Handloom Movement’, by offering floral tributes at the District Police Office.
Following the directions of District SP Sri K.V. Maheswara Reddy, IPS, Armed Reserve Additional SP L. Seshadri garlanded the portrait of the renowned freedom fighter and paid heartfelt homage. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted Pragada Kotaiah’s remarkable contributions to India’s freedom struggle and his lifelong efforts to protect the rights and welfare of handloom weavers. He emphasized that Kotaiah’s dedication to public service, social justice, and the upliftment of the handloom sector continues to inspire future generations.
The event witnessed the participation of officers and personnel from the District Police Office and Armed Reserve, reflecting the police department’s commitment to honoring national icons, preserving their legacy, and inspiring society through the values of selfless service, patriotism, and public welfare.
