Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: It is a matter of pride for the Madhya Pradesh Police that Inspector (A) Shri Rakesh Kumar Kushwaha (Senior Stenographer)—posted as the Personal Assistant to the Assistant Inspector General (Special Armed Force) at the Police Headquarters—has won the gold medal by securing first place in the 10m Air Pistol (Master Category) event at the Open India Pre-State Shooting Competition-2026. His achievement has further enhanced the prestige of the Madhya Pradesh Police at the national level. Recognizing this remarkable success, Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana honored Shri Kushwaha with a cash prize of ₹5,000 to encourage his outstanding performance, sportsmanship, and morale. While extending his best wishes, DGP Shri Makwana stated that Shri Kushwaha’s success is the result of his discipline, hard work, dedication, and consistent practice. Through his excellent performance, he has brought glory not only to the Madhya Pradesh Police but to the entire state. Shri Rakesh Kumar Kushwaha has previously demonstrated his sporting talent by winning a silver medal at the Madhya Pradesh Police State-Level Shooting Competition. Through his consistently excellent performance, he has proven that with determination, discipline, and regular practice, one can achieve high honors in sports alongside fulfilling official duties. It is noteworthy that, until now, there had been no instance of an officer from the stenographic or clerical cadre participating in a national-level shooting competition and achieving such a feat.
